                                                         Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution had a great impact all across the world and was more positive than negative for humanity in many different ways. Some changes that were positive were changes in the economy, relationships to nature, political life, and culture. There are many different reasons why the industrial revolution was positive. Coal and steam replaced wind and water as a new source of energy. Many people were moving from the countryside to the cities to work in factories. The Industrial Revolution was an enormous leap for the production of products.

The Industrial Revolution brought many new inventions to the market. Most of these inventions helped to mass produce items, while others made life easier; some were used for transportation. For example the first change that started the Industrial Revolution was the cotton industry. The first cottage factory was created in England. This industry was backed by many new inventions. For example; the steam powered loom was built in the 1760?s by a Scottish engineer named James Watt.  An invention that helped another industry boom was the first steam engine. The steam engine brought the coal and iron industries to existence. Coal and iron were used in railroads, coal powered the engines, and the iron created railroad tracks. These mining industries were great because they opened up many new jobs for people that were unemployed.

The Industrial Revolution resulted in many new inventions. Since the demand was meeting the need, the population grew. In addition many new medicines were created and not as many kids died before they became adults. Before the Revolution, one in every five children died of disease. Factories were created in which everyone could work, but they soon changed after kids began to die by using the machinery in factories. The Factory Act of 1833 created a limited age of 9 for children to work. Factories also created mass production and the assembly line. The assembly line was a method of creating the same machine over and over again. The first part of the machine would be made by one person, and the second part of the machine would be made by the second person etc. This was a quicker method rather than to have one person work on the machine by him/herself. Since the person had to make only one part, they didn?t have to be as educated or as professional and this made it easier for anyone to get a job.

Not only did the Industrial Revolution create jobs, but it also boosted the economy. Instead of the U.S. taking in goods from another country, other countries bought those goods from the U.S. The Industrial Revolution also used up all the land across the country; Railroads were being made so people could get by and get a view of the country. Railroads were also created to move items from one side of the country to the other. Since lots of cities were crowded, cultures were created and mixed. But now, people couldn?t go to church on Sundays because they were working seven days a week. Culture became less religious and more secular. People populated in cities and it was now easier for people to obey one set of rules and laws that the government created for them. It was also easier for the people to vote for what type of government they wanted. Since they were in the city there was a chance that they might have met the politic or seen a sign.

Many new inventions were created, which helped industries to boom. More people were finding jobs, so they would decide to have kids, and this would make the population increase. New medicines were invented to help many people stay healthy and away from sickness. But, after the population increase, it made it harder for production to met people?s needs. The Industrial Revolution had a booming effect on every aspect of life and created a new world for many people.
